C.A. Richards has been connecting offshore and subsea operators with best-in-class technology since 1971 — delivering integrated equipment solutions from manufacturers whose products we've personally evaluated and stand behind. We are a Houston-based offshore and subsea technology provider and authorized representative for leading technology manufacturers. Our History
Five Decades of Offshore Technology
Founded in Houston
C.A. Richards is established in Houston, Texas — the heart of the offshore energy industry — as a manufacturers' representative focused on the emerging offshore and subsea technology market.
Expanding the Portfolio
As the Gulf of America deepwater market grows, C.A. Richards expands its manufacturer relationships to include sonar, underwater cameras, and ROV subsystems — building the technical depth that defines the company today.
Deepwater Era
The deepwater boom transforms the offshore industry. C.A. Richards is positioned at the center of it, representing the technologies that enable operators to work in water depths previously thought impossible.
Subsea Robotics Growth

MATE ROV Competition
Supporting the Next Generation
C.A. Richards is proud to support the MATE ROV Competition, which challenges students from middle school through college to design, build, and operate underwater robots — developing the next generation of ocean technology professionals.
The competition inspires students to pursue careers in marine science, engineering, and technology — exactly the fields that drive the offshore and subsea industry forward.
Giving Back
The C.A. Richards Scholarship
C.A. Richards established a scholarship program to support the next generation of ocean technology professionals. Administered through the Marine Technology Society Houston Section, the scholarship provides financial support to students pursuing degrees in marine engineering, ocean engineering, oceanography, and related fields.
To date, the C.A. Richards Scholarship has awarded over $200,000 to deserving students — helping them pursue careers in the offshore and ocean technology industry that we've been part of for more than 50 years.
We believe that investing in the next generation of ocean technology professionals is one of the most important things we can do for the long-term health of this industry. The scholarship is our way of making that investment tangible.
