Belgium Facility Tour & Training

Rick and Reed travelled to Belgium to get training on nCentrics latest products. In addition to training, they met the nCentric team and toured their facility which is located just outside of Brugges.

Ocean Sonics specializes in the gathering of ocean sound. The company has developed an advanced acoustic hydrophone, which gives you the ability to listen in real time or as a data logger to sound in the ocean. Applications include marine mammal and bio acoustic monitoring, subsea leak detection and condition monitoring of subsea machinery.

Rick attends 2012 Marine Engineering Sonar Inspection Course held at Northwest Michigan College. Course covered underwater inspection and marine engineering survey applications. Program was presented by Kongsberg Mesotech Ltd., Kongsberg GeoAcoustics and Nautilus Marine Group.

Oceaneering Golf Tournament

Here is a photo from the Oceaneering Golf Tournament. Center is Matt Fatheree then Steve Miller both of Oceaneering. We sponsored the event as well as Kongsberg Mesotech, Kongsberg Camera Division and Seacon. We shot 6 under par and the winning team shot 11 under. Over 30 teams participated in the event at the Atchafalaya Golf Course in Patterson, LA. A good time was had by all and the event raised over $25,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer organization.

You can tell we’re in Louisiana, the sign maker thought it was Richard, not Richards.[/fusion_text]

CARA wins MTS Golf Tournament

[fusion_text]WOW! the CARA golf team came away with a big win at this year’s Marine Technology Society Annual Golf tournament. This is a first for CARA which normally ends up last, so we are proud of Rick Cisneros putting together a team of customers and taking first prize for lowest score. Way to go Rick! Additionally, Craig Howard of DOF Subsea won the longest drive.

CA and Chuck visit with Marty Klein at Mate Competition Houston

Old friends get together at the MATE International ROV competition. Chuck Richards on the left and Charlie Richards on the right meet with Marty Klein the developer of the first commercial side scan sonar. C. A. Richards & Assoc., Inc. represented Klein Associates for over eighteen years proudly selling the finest side-scan sonar made. Our friendship with Marty continues to be very rewarding. Marty and his son Jamie were judges at the recent MATE International ROV competition held in Houston.

Rick Cisneros Joins the Richards Sales Team

Chuck receives the Lockheed Martin Award

We are very proud and happy to announce that Chuck Richards was awarded the Lockheed Martin Award for Ocean Science and Engineering at the Oceans 2010 Conference in Seattle, Wa. October 12-14th. This is presented to an individual who has demonstrated the highest degree of technical accomplishment in the field of marine science, engineering or technology.

The award each year is handmade and never duplicated, this one shows an Orca beautifully carved and mounted on a wooden base looking like an ocean wave. It was presented by Mr. Robert Varley of Lockheed Martin.
